a little about me: Hi. I'm Dee. This is my journal for role-playing resources and other assorted bumph (legal term). I have a fandom journal on LJ (cupiscent) where I blather about whatever shiny characters have currently captured my imagination, and a domain/blog (viscerate.com) where I spout random crap.
I am: late twenties, Australian, a trained editor and a hopeful fantasy novelist. I've been role-playing since 1998. I've played freeform, tabletop (primarily White Wolf), mu*s, PBeM and journal games. I've GMed tabletop and freeform games, and modded two long-running journal-based games. I prefer to create a character concept to fit a game, rather than finding a game to fit my character concept.
Though I'm primarily an HP RPer, I'll consider other concepts (though I found Twilight laughably mediocre). I love plot, imaginative concepts, complexity and challenging my characters. I believe that in-game actions should have in-game consequences. I tend not to like social games, era mash-ups (whether time travel or "beyond the veil") or games that are careless with canon (wilfully altering it is a different kettle of AU). Though I've played all manner of characters, I'm fond of Slytherins. My favourite characters to play are Blaise Zabini and Druella Rosier.
i am currently: i am sadly no longer:

Yeah. I would've sworn I was done making icons as well, but then I was looking at 196 pictures of Paul Dempsey this morning (because we saw him in concert last night) and he's still the prettiest princess one of my favourite warrior poets, and Photoshop just opened itself. I swear.
He's a zen Irish musician dude, so possibly more of these icons are in the "gosh he's so pretty" pile than the "useful expression" pile, but we should all just move on from that.

I'm writing this down in the hopes that, having been thusly purged, my brain will shut the hell up about it.

So. embargo had a post of this lass that caught me right in the Roman/Alecto-spawn muse. She might also make a half-decent Bellatrix. She's occasionally too goth to live, which is sad, because she has the most incredible smile. Anyway, I'm rather fond. I may have gone overboard...

One of those "no one will EVER let me use her" PBs (especially not for McGonagall in the '50s... *shifty*) but she's sort of too splendid for me to resist iconning.

Where are all the Arabic girls with luscious abundances of hair and smoulder and bint-whatever names? (I said.) I don't know why. I've been unwell, OK? Haifa has about three facial expressions and two of them are "sultry", but somehow I really quite like her.

Still in love with Miranda Otto. I particularly enjoyed her hard-arsed, magnificently coiffered character in Cashmere Mafia. More icons to celebrate.

Now that IJ's working for me again, I can do some catching up...
I saw St Trinians. (And I enjoyed it too! NYAH!) Now, obviously, I want to be Gemma Arterton when I grow up er, in my next life?

I've adored Mr Marsden since he told us the correct answer to the question, "What's the capital of North Dakota?" but it occurred to me recently (watching 27 Dresses, in fact) that I am completely and irrationally a fan. He just plain makes me pleased with the world. Also, he's very pretty.
